There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing someone transform from simply existing to thriving
From a young age, Jessie felt a strong desire to sit with people who were hurting. As she got older, she realized she wanted to do more than just listen. This desire led her to pursue a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC.
Jessie’s primary focus is working with individuals who have experienced acute, chronic, and complex trauma; however, her interests also encompass a range of other areas, including phase of life issues, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, low self-esteem, interpersonal challenges, and spiritual conflict/trauma. She draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), tailoring her approach to each client's unique needs and experiences.
Jessie believes the foundation of effective therapy is a safe, trusting relationship. Her role is to meet the client where they are, provide a judgment-free and empathetic space, and empower clients to discover and build upon their strengths. She believes her clients have the tools and power within; sometimes they just need help finding them. Jessie also believes that a holistic approach is most effective, aligning mind, body, and spirit to effectively treat the whole person. Jessie noted there is nothing more rewarding than witnessing someone transform from simply existing to thriving – it’s like watching a “glow up” in real time.
Outside of work, she is a proud dog mom, including our office dog, Rosie. You can often find her cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially the Baltimore Ravens, or watching true crime. She also enjoys weightlifting, the outdoors, and nature, although she has a terrible track record at keeping houseplants alive.
