She strives to empower patients to feel like active and effective participants in their own care, ensuring that their goals are heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.
Nicole’s journey into mental health began with a desire to connect with people on a personal level and to witness the positive impact that quality mental healthcare can have on all aspects of a person’s well-being – mental, physical, and spiritual. This led her to pursue her MSN, APRN, and become a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Her primary area of focus is medication management.
As a provider, Nicole takes a holistic approach, emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and incorporating therapeutic techniques alongside medication management. She believes that true healing involves addressing all aspects of an individual's health. She strives to empower patients to feel like active and effective participants in their own care, ensuring that their goals are heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.
What Nicole finds most rewarding about her role is witnessing patients realize their own capability and competence to make positive changes and become their own advocates. She sees herself as providing assistance and additional tools to support them on this journey. In a trauma-informed environment, the values of safety, understanding, and the absence of judgment or stigma are paramount. She is also passionate about promoting healthy coping skills.
Outside of her practice, Nicole enjoys surfing and immersing herself in nerdy fantasy novels. Her background in nursing was in neurological critical care, which has further shaped her understanding of the interconnectedness of mind and body.
