She recognizes that each individual is unique and strives to understand each client’s specific needs, concerns, and personal strengths.
Ria’s path to becoming a counselor stemmed from a deep desire to help others feel heard and cared for, especially during times of suffering and difficulty. This led her to pursue a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary and become a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA). Her areas of specialization and interest include Christian counseling, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma.
Ria’s counseling style takes a holistic approach, considering the whole person – emotional, physical, social, and spiritual. She utilizes evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and strength-based approaches. For clients interested in Christian counseling, she also incorporates scripture to guide them toward biblical truth. She recognizes that each individual is unique and strives to understand each client’s specific needs, concerns, and personal strengths. This allows her to effectively come alongside them and assist in overcoming life's hardships.
What Ria finds most fulfilling about her role is the honor of providing a safe space for clients. In a trauma-informed environment, it is especially rewarding to witness the transformative process of healing. Being a part of that journey, watching clients find healing from their trauma, is a truly beautiful experience.
